Ayoola Foods Limited was founded by our Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer – Engr. Segun Emmanuel Olaye in 1991 and was registered as Food Processing, Packaging, Marketing and Consulting Company.
Our initial plan was to feed Africans in Diaspora. Our CEO has his Master’s Degree at Odessa Engineering Institute in 1984 in the former Soviet Union now Ukraine. One major thing he really missed during his six-year stay abroad was African diet which was not available in Odessa in USSR as at that time.
Ayoola Foods Limited commenced business in 1991 with 8 staff members. Our first export was to London. With hard work and God’s blessing, today we have 289 staff members. Our latest ultra modem factory was commissioned December 2008. We started with few products but today, we have over twenty different products to our credit. We are still working on new products and packaging to make our products more attractive at first sight.
We commenced sales of our products in the Local Nigeria Market in August 2004. We took part in various exhibitions and trade fairs in different parts of Nigeria to show-case our products – Poundo Yam, Cassava Fufu, Beans Flour, Plantain Flour and Rice Flour. Today with the help of our distributors and sub-distributors in different countries, our products are now available in over eighteen countries worldwide.
We used to have 12 major distributors in Europe, America and Australia up till 2004. We have reduced these to only 4 and each of them has sub-distributors in their areas of coverage. We have however increased the number of our distributors in Nigeria which has grown from 22 in 2004 to 78 in all the states in Nigeria.
